First of all, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

The clock is ticking which means we are getting even closer to the Boston Author Event. Since we announced the event, we've had a lot of questions from fans and authors alike. So, we posted the most common questions and answers on the Event Details page here. Feel free to take a look and if you can't find the answer to your question, shoot us an e-mail.

FAQ:

Q: When I registered there was not an arrival time option. What does this mean? Do I need to re-register?

A: If you registered on the first day, your ticket only referred to the event time (12-4 p.m.). All registrants with this type of ticket are automatically in the first arrival time slot, which is 12 p.m. You do not need to re-register. 

Q: Is there a ticket I am supposed to bring with me?

A: No. Once you register, your name is put onto a list which we will have at the door at the event. We will check you in at that time. 

Q: I'm not sure an hour will be enough time to get to all my favorite authors. Should I register for two arrival times? 

A: No. Please only register for one arrival time. All registrants will wait in line outside of the signing room. A limited number of people will be let into the signing room at a time. Once you are let in to the signing room, you'll have plenty of time to visit all your favorite authors. Once you cycle through and exit, we will allow additional guests in. 

Q: Will there be books available to buy at the event?

A: Yes, there will be books to buy at the event. A complete list will be posted shortly. 

Q: I already have a copy of a book I'd like to have signed. Can I bring it with me or do I have to buy it there?

A: Sure! You are more than welcome to bring books you already own. 

Q: Is there a place to hang out with the authors before or after the event?

A: At this time, the only meet & greet opportunity with authors is at the actual signing event from 12-4 p.m. Individual authors may be organizing separate events before or after the Boston Author Event, but that is up to each of them. If you are interested in something like that, please contact the author directly. 

Q: I am taking public transportation to the event. What T stop should I get off at? 

A: The closest T stops are on the red line at Downtown Crossing and the green line at Park Street. Each of these stops is within a 5 minute walk to the Omni Parker House. For more information on public transportation, please click here. 

Q: I'm an author interested in participating in the event. Are you still accepting more authors?
A: No. Unfortunately, the event space is completely full. If you are interested in being placed on a wait list, please e-mail us. At this time, it is highly unlikely that anyone from the wait list will be able to participate. Either way, we will keep this list to notify you about future author events. 

Q: I'm an author who isn't participating in the event, but would like to leave swag for fans. Do you have a place I'd be able to leave it?
A: No. Unfortunately, we won't have any room to add a table for author swag.
