Getting Ready for the Boston Author Event

Hi, Fans! There are only a few more weeks to go until the Boston Author Event (BAE) and we can’t wait to meet all of you there! In the meantime, we wanted to take a moment to clarify a few things for you.

First off, there are thirty amazing authors getting ready to see all of you at the BAE. You can find the full list of these talented women in the header above and details about each of them in the post following this one. You may have heard about other authors coming to the event, selling books, or setting up meet-and-greets for their fans. While that may be happening, we just want to make sure you’re clear that if an author’s name is not listed on the official BAE website, they will not be participating in the official signing. That means that they will not have table inside the Kennedy Room at the Omni Parker House during our event.

Second, there are a ton of you coming to the BAE and we couldn’t be happier about that! Because our numbers are so huge, we’d like your help in making sure everything runs smoothly. Here are the specifics on how the event will be run. The official BAE signing will take place in the Kennedy Room which is located on the first floor just inside of the Tremont Street entrance at the Omni Parker House. Outside of the Kennedy room two tables will be set up which you’ll pass before you go in to meet your favorite wordsmiths. One table will be selling books written by Jessica Park, S.C. Stephens, and Tina Reber (all other books will be sold by the authors inside the actual signing room). The other table will check you in, mark your hand for entrance, and give you a handout with the table layout so you can easily find your favorite author in the signing room. In order to adhere to fire codes and avoid confusion, only a limited number of fans will be allowed into the room at any given time. We ask that once you have cycled through the room, you exit so that other fans can have their chance to meet their favorite authors. Since we have over 1,200 people registered to attend, please expect to wait in line. This line will wind from the front of the Kennedy room out the front doors and down Tremont Street, which means it is highly likely that you’ll be outside for a portion of your wait time. Dress warmly as March in New England can be unpredictable. We will do all we can to move the line along as quickly as possible, but we are relying on you to be mindful of the time you spend with each author. Once you have exited the signing room, you will not be allowed re-entrance unless there is no line.

Third, if you are interested in getting Boston Author Event swag you can buy it here at CafePress. These items will NOT be sold at the event, so please plan accordingly.

Fourth, if you haven’t had a chance to enter the BAE Giant Giveaway yet, what are you waiting for? There are a ton of books up for grabs as well as swag which has all been generously donated by the BAE authors we love so much. Enter now, tell a friend, and thank a BAE author for their contribution (US entries only).

Finally, please know that a lot of time and effort has gone into planning this event on our part and that of the participating authors. Cristina, Trish, and I are fans just like you who had an idea that quickly caught on. Believe me, we’re thrilled that it did otherwise we wouldn’t have this unique opportunity. We have been continuously impressed and inspired by the participating authors and the indie community as a whole and hope to be able to bring this event to you annually. We’d like to thank the official BAE authors for the time, money, and energy that they have invested in making this a reality, as well as all the volunteers who will be there to make sure the BAE is a huge success! From the bottom of our hearts, thanks to all of you for the part you’ve played in putting smiles on our faces throughout this adventure. We’ll see you on the 16th!

  4. Thank you to all three of you for working so hard to get this all together! I will be making the trek in from Maine along with four of my friends. We are so excited about this as we are looking forward to meeting over 15 of the authors listed! It would be so great if this did become an annual tradition :)

  6. Hey! Is there going to be a set price for each book at the event? I know Colleen Hoover is selling books for 15 dollars, I was wondering if everyone else would be too. Or, if everyone will be different. I just want to bring enough money to buy all the books!
