AMY BARTOL
Author Information:
I live in Michigan with my husband and our two sons. My family is very supportive of my writing. When I’m writing, they often bring me the take-out menu so that I can call and order them dinner. They listen patiently when I talk about my characters like they’re real. They rarely roll their eyes when I tell them I’ll only be a second while I finish writing a chapter…and then they take off their coats. They ask me how the story is going when I surface after living for hours in a world of my own making. They have learned to accept my “writing uniform” consisting of a slightly unflattering pink fleece jacket, t-shirt, and black yoga pants. And they smile at my nerdy bookishness whenever I try to explain urban fantasy to them. In short, they get me, so they are perfect and I am blessed. AMBER LYNN NATUSCH

Author Information:

If you’re dying to know more about me, allow me to put you at ease. I’m a sharp-tongued, sarcastic cancer, who loves vegetable smoothies, winter storms, and the word portfolio. I should NEVER be caffeinated, and require at least eight hours of sleep to even resemble a human being. At thirty-four, I just now feel like I can keep a straight face while saying the word “rectum” (which is actually a huge lie because I just laughed out loud while reading this to my husband). I live with my iPod firmly affixed to my body, drive too fast, and laugh/cry at inappropriate times.

ANDREA RANDALL

Author Information:

I started writing poetry long before writing fiction. I firmly believe Poetry is a solid foundation for all other forms of writing. It taught me that a single word can make or break the world.

I write fiction because my characters have a story and they want me to tell it.

I hope you enjoy the pieces of my soul that I share with you.

E.L. MONTES

Author Information:

Author of Disastrous and Cautious. I live in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with my husband of four amazing years, Alex! We've been together since I was sixteen years old and ten years later he still gets on my nerves but I wouldn't take him any other way ;) We have a two year old English bulldog name Butters! (Yes he was named after South Park!) He's our only child for now...we spoil him rotten.

I have a B.S. in Legal Studies. I work full-time as a paralegal for a mid-size law firm. I always loved the legal field and found it to be very interesting. I more so “secretly” loved to write. It was a hidden secret from so many people until now.

Only a hand-full of people knew it was my passion.

I'm a hopeless romantic, so I dream and breathe romance movies, books and of course writing it!

GEORGIA CATES

Author Information:

I am a wife, mother of two daughters and a labor and delivery nurse. I have recently added Paranormal Romance Writer to my list of things to keep be busy, but I am ecstatic to release my debut novel, Blood of Anteros, the first book in The Vampire Agápe Series.

Like others that enjoy a great story of paranormal romance, I am easily bored by the tale of an obtainable, ordinary romance and was inspired to create The Vampire Agápe Series. When I am not tied up with my family or delivering babies, I am working feverishly on the second book in The Vampire Agápe Series

J STERLING

Author Information:

I got fired from my last job.

It's true.

I know you're sitting there thinking, "Jenn, how could anyone in their right mind fire someone as amazing and awesome as you are???" And I'd love to give you a good reason, but the truth is... being This! Awesome! Is clearly very scary to other less awesome people. :)

So I said screw them and started writing my first book. And you know what I realized? Writing books that mean something to me is a million times better than working for my ass off for someone who doesn't really care about anything other than the bottom line.

My soul feels more satisfied.

My heart, more full.

So thank you for reading, loving and recommending the stories I write.

I think you're awesome- and not only am I not scared of other awesome people, I want them on my team!

KARINA HALLE

Author Information:

The daughter of a Norwegian Viking and a Finnish Moomin, Karina Halle grew up in Vancouver, Canada with trolls and eternal darkness on the brain. This soon turned into a love of all things that go bump in the night and a rather sadistic appreciation for freaking people out. Like many of the flawed characters she writes, Karina never knew where to find herself and has dabbled in acting, make-up artistry, film production, screenwriting, photography, travel writing and music journalism. She eventually found herself in the pages of the very novels she wrote (if only she had looked there to begin with).

Karina holds a screenwriting degree from Vancouver Film School and a Bachelor of Journalism from TRU. Her travel writing, music reviews/interviews and photography have appeared in publications such as Consequence of Sound, Mxdwn and GoNomad Travel Guides. She currently lives on an island on the coast of British Columbia where she's preparing for the zombie apocalypse.

MAGGI MYERS

Author Information:

Author of The Final Piece. My first memory is of music (James Taylor- Handy Man); my second memory is of storytelling with my imaginary friend, The Incredible Hulk (no, I am not kidding. I addressed him as Bruce or Hulk, depending on the day). I think nerds are sexy. I always cheer for the underdog. I am quirky, flirty, strong, funny, naughty, charming, friendly, compassionate, empathetic, loving...humble :-) I am a writer, a bookworm, a steel magnolia and an overall mischief maker. I have a big heart and happily wear it on my sleeve but I have been known to TP the houses of people that piss me off. I am a living breathing contradiction and it suits me just fine!

MICHELE SCOTT

Author Information:

Author of the Wine Lover’s Mystery series, Happy Hour and the Horse Lover’s Mystery series. I started writing when I was nine-years-old. I used to write short stories on my dad’s notepads. One day he read one and he said to me, “You are a writer.” It stuck. My dad is still my biggest supporter and he is also my mentor in many ways. I went to college at The University of Southern California. My parents though didn’t think that “creative writing” at USC was a major that would likely be lucrative in the long run, so I figured I would be logical and look at writing in the journalistic field. God (the Universe), etc. had a different plan for me. Soon after I graduated from USC I gave birth to my first son. He was six weeks premature and he had some health issues, which caused me to decide that going into a career at that time would not benefit my son. So, I stayed home with him and I wrote my first book. That first book is tucked away in a box somewhere because it’s pretty darn bad, but it gave me the confidence I needed to know that I could start, write, and finish a book. From that point on, it took me twelve years to become a published author and several manuscripts. It has been a wonderful and amazing process, and although many challenges have presented themselves along the way, I have never quit writing. It is my passion!

My other passion is Horses. These amazing animals are very dear to my heart and I have been known to take in “strays.” My daughter and I are very active in the horse world. My daughter is involved in pony club and three day eventing.

I enjoy work with other writers when I can, especially kids. I designed a program for young writers to help them learn how to write short stories and picture books to writing complete novellas for older kids. I have mentored several students now and it’s a joyful experience to see young writers and their creative minds at work. It is something I am working on expanding with some local teachers in my area.

Family and friends are extremely important to me. I am the proud mother of three amazing kids who have always supported me and are just great, awesome human beings (yes, I know I sound like every mother in the world about their kids, but I really mean it). My husband is my best friend and a very patient man, which is a real positive—he is married to a writer after all. We also have three dogs, a kitty, and eight horses.
When not writing, riding, or being a taxi-cab driver for my youngest, I try to find time to do a little yoga, meditate or cooking. I love cookbooks and cooking!

RAINE MILLER

Author Information:

Author of the Blackstone Affair series, The Undoing of a Libertine,  and His Perfect Passion.  Raine Miller is a New York Times bestselling author who likes to write romantic stories pretty much every chance she gets. She has a handsome husband, and two amazing sons to keep her busy the rest of the time. Her boys know she likes to write stories, but gratefully have never asked to read any. Thank God!

I’ll leave you with a quote from a young man who didn’t live long enough to write more beautiful words for our continued enjoyment, dying tragically at only twenty-five years old. One of the most brilliant romantic poets ever to walk this earth, his words continue to take my breath away. This is from a letter he wrote to his fiance, Fanny Brawne. He died before they could marry.

I almost wish we were butterflies and liv’d but three summer days. Three such days with you I could fill with more delight than fifty common years could ever contain. JOHN KEATS…1819

REBECCA DONOVAN

Author Information:

1. I'm a hopeless optimist. No matter what the situation, I truly believe whatever's supposed to happen...will. And it usually does!
2. Winking bothers me - really. It creeps me out!
3. I'd rather have experiences than material possessions. Yes... I will definitely do more traveling! France is happening this summer!
4. I love concerts! I've been averaging one a week lately!  I will even drive or fly across the country to attend a music festival if it has an incredible line-up.  Austin City Limits was INSANE!! Can't wait for Coachella in April!!
5. I have visions that I'm a better athlete than I actually am. I'd rather believe the lies.
6. I'm a Mountain Dew addict... I've tried to quit. But it's my creative elixir, and I NEED it!  Did I mention I was addicted?
7. The saying, "Have a safe flight," freaks me out. It allows room for an alternative to a safe flight, and who wants to think that before stepping on a plane?! I'd prefer, "Have an amazing time," or "Hope you sit next to THE cute guy on the plane." Those are thoughts I'd prefer to have in my head when boarding the plane.
8. Hugging is the best cure for everything! And I can proudly say that I'm an awesome hugger!
9. I appreciate great sarcasm! And am extremely sarcastic myself - be warned!
10.  I do not like winter... at all. And yes, I recognize that I live in New England.       Why? It must be their sports teams...

RL MATHEWSON

Author Information:

Author of the Pyte/Sentinel series, Neighbor from Hell series, EMS series and the Hollywood Heart series. Before I tried my hand at writing I was a receptionist, cafeteria worker at the college I attended, museum worker, bellhop, and about a dozen other different things that are pretty embarrassing so we’re just going to skip over those things and pretend that they never happened ;D

At some point I got a little direction in my life and tried my hand at emergency medicine, since I am, or at least was, deathly afraid of needles I opted for the fun job in EMS, an EMT. It was a fun job, a bit stressful, but I learned a great deal and had the opportunity to meet people from all walks of life. I learned a great deal from my patients and have never forgotten the wisdom they imparted on me. After a short stint as a Residential Home worker I decided to try the stay-at-home mom job and found out something very important.

I can’t just sit around with nothing to do while I try to be deathly silent so that I don’t wake up one of my children and send them into a blood curdling screaming fit. So, to fill the time I started to read again. When I was in school I was a bookworm, but got away from it as I grew older. I was drawn back into my love of reading by Julia Quinn’s What Happens In London. It was a wonderful, witty book and I fell instantly in love with romance novels.

Some of the romance novels that I read were great and I couldn’t get enough, I started to play with the idea of writing a book. Several months later I finally gave in and tried. For four months straight I worked day and night until finally I finished my first book. Then of course I re-read what I wrote, cringed and deleted the entire book and started over again. I started working on other projects and soon had two finished books, Tall, Dark & Lonely: A Pyte Series Novel and A Humble Heart: A Hollywood Heart’s Novel. It was a very exciting time except for one little problem……

I had absolutely no idea what to do with the books now that they were done. So, of course I put the books aside and forgot about them for a little while I worked on other books. Months later I decided that maybe I should do something with them. I looked into getting published, admittedly not very hard since what I read about the publishing process wasn’t exactly making me jump and down with excitement.

After reading an article about self-publishing I knew that was the way I wanted to go. I like the freedom to write what I want, when I want and publish a story that I hope others will enjoy reading. It gives me a great deal of freedom and allows me to retain full control over my work, which of course allows me to set the prices of my books and make them affordable for everyone Which of course is the reasoning behind the $0.99 price tag for my books.

That’s how I became a writer and why I self-publish. Well, that and I’m pretty laid back and don’t want to be hassled with contractual obligations. That would just cut into my writing time, time with my kids, reading time and my hot cocoa addiction. Yes, I am thoroughly addicted to hot cocoa.

LIZ REINHARDT

Author Information:

Liz Reinhardt was born and raised in the idyllic beauty of northwest NJ. A move to the subtropics of coastal Georgia with her daughter and husband left her with a newly realized taste for the beach and a bloated sunscreen budget that exist right alongside an intense longing for the bagels and fast-talking foul mouths of her youth. She loves Raisinettes, even if they aren’t really candy, the Oxford comma, movies that are hilarious or feature zombies, any and all books, but especially romance (the smarter and hotter, the better), the sound of her daughter’s incessantly wise and entertaining chatter, and watching her husband work on cars in the driveway.
